Flat Iron Steaks
Big Poppa’s Double Secret Seasoning
Prepare the Steaks:
Place the flat iron steaks on a clean surface.
Generously season both sides of the flat iron steaks with Big Poppa’s Double Secret Seasoning.
Let the Seasoning Set:
Allow the seasoned flat iron steaks to rest for a few minutes, letting the seasoning sweat onto the meat and enhance the flavors.
Preheat the Griddle:
Heat up the griddle to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
Add a small amount of oil to the griddle to prevent sticking.
Cooking the Steaks:
Place the seasoned flat iron steaks on the preheated griddle.
Cover the steaks to ensure even cooking.
Flip and Monitor Temperature:
Flip the flat iron steaks once the internal temperature reaches around 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
Continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 135-140 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove from Griddle:
After reaching the desired internal temperature, remove the flat iron steaks from the griddle.
Rest the Meat:
Allow the cooked steaks to rest for about 5 minutes. This helps the juices redistribute, resulting in a more flavorful and tender steak.
Slice and Plate:
Slice the flat iron steaks against the grain to maximize tenderness.
Plate the sliced steak with your favorite sides.
Note: Adjust cooking times based on the thickness of the flat iron steaks and personal preferences. Make sure to check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer for perfect doneness. Serve with sides like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a crisp salad for a complete meal.
